'IVY'-RESTORATION

ALL ABOUT A 1967 IVY GREEN MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE

This car came in needing an new interior, engine, top, brakes, automatic transmission, complete suspension and more. The Boss in California decided to keep the actual light green color instead of replacing it with the original "ivy green".
Today we know that this was a wrong decision. "Nobody is perfect" seems to be true, even in California. But maybe the Boss suspected, that some hidden and certainly unpleasant secrets would have been discovered under the paint? At least it was not rust...
A couple months later and here is a great looking, but somewhat basic restoration of a classic Mustang. Even the AC blows cold and the original radio is perfectly working.

BUT THERE WAS MORE TO COME:

As you can see by browsing through the picture gallery, a convertible in winter is only half the fun. That's why we used the time from November 2010 until March 2011 to give Ivy a new paint job. For that she was stripped down to bare metal and the new paintwork was build up from scratch. If there was any hidden rust, it surely was eliminated. But there was more...

Now Ivy has a new and elegant look,
but during this process we had to discover some very unpleasant surprises...

After this oustanding restoration in California this classic
'67 Mustang was imported into Germany were she got a final polish
and some necessary technical enhancements to keep up with the
standards of world famous German engeneering and to be fully
ready for the German "Autobahn" without any speed limits.

Ivy has a new look now.
